Panel Discussion on Healthcare March 27

Looking for answers about the projected changes to the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid and Medicare? On Tuesday, March 27th from 5 to 6:30 p.m., representatives from LincolnHealth and the Boothbay Region Health Center will join in a panel discussion at the Rotary Club headquarters at 66 Montgomery Road, Boothbay Harbor. Speakers include Jim Donovan, CEO of LincolnHealth, Dr. Alan Barker, Primary Care Physician, Lincoln Medical Partners, Dr. Allan (Chip) Teel, Primary Care Physician, Boothbay Region Health Center, and Patty Seybold, Board President of the new Boothbay Region Health Center. The meeting is hosted by Indivisible Boothbay, a nonpartisan group which meets on the third Tuesday of each month. As a community we can:

1. Take local control of our primary health service.

2. Establish a patient-driven primary care practice model

3. Increase access and use primary health care services appropriately.

4. Make both individual and community-wide choices that will result in improved health status.

1. Get a higher percentage of the population into an ongoing relationship with a primary care provider.

2. Reduce perhaps by half the number of unnecessary Emergency Department and Urgent Care visits.

3. Achieve a demonstrable improvement in the health status of the community.
