Family medicine is at the heart of what we do. Boothbay Region Health Center provides primary care for people of all ages, from children and teens to adults and older adults. Our providers diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, help manage ongoing health needs, and support patients through every stage of life.
Family medicine includes routine check-ups, preventive screenings, immunizations, health education, and personalized counseling to help patients maintain a healthy lifestyle. By building long-term relationships with our patients, we are able to provide care that is personal, practical, and connected to each patient’s health history.
Brain health is an important part of overall wellness at every age. It includes memory, focus, mood, balance, sleep, and the ability to stay active, independent, and connected.
At Boothbay Region Health Center, we support brain health through compassionate conversations, early screening when appropriate, medication review, lifestyle guidance, and referrals when additional evaluation or support is needed. Whether a patient is experiencing changes in memory, mood, sleep, or daily functioning, our team can help start the conversation and guide next steps.
We also offer a structured Brain Health Program for adults who are at risk of, or are experiencing symptoms of cognitive decline, and their care partners. Our Brain Health Program includes specific lab tests, MRIs, cognitive tests, and individualized treatment plans, along with lifestyle modifications that have proven effective. It is a collaborative research program, in which patients and medical providers learn together about the latest research with monthly seminars and a weekly patient/care-giver support group.
When you are not feeling well, Boothbay Region Health Center is here to help with timely care for common illnesses, minor injuries, and health concerns that need attention. Our acute care services include evaluation and treatment for sore throats, infections, allergies, wounds, stomach upset, pain, headaches, insect bites, tick bites, and other everyday medical issues.
While we are not an emergency room, our primary care team can help determine the right next step for your symptoms and provide treatment, testing, referrals, or follow-up care when needed. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911.
Preventive care helps identify health concerns early and supports long-term wellness. At Boothbay Region Health Center, we encourage patients to stay up to date with routine check-ups, annual wellness visits, immunizations, recommended screenings, and diagnostic lab work.
Preventive visits are an opportunity to talk with your provider about your health goals, family history, lifestyle, medications, and any changes you may be noticing. These conversations can help detect issues early, reduce health risks, and create a plan for staying well.
Living with a chronic health condition can be challenging, but you do not have to manage it alone. Boothbay Region Health Center provides chronic care management for patients with ongoing medical needs, including conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, asthma, atrial fibrillation, cancer, cardiovascular disease, COPD, diabetes, congestive heart failure, hypertension, infectious diseases, respiratory conditions, and tick-borne diseases.
Our care team works with patients to monitor symptoms, manage medications, coordinate referrals, review lab results, and develop practical care plans. The goal is to help patients maintain the best possible quality of life while reducing complications and avoiding unnecessary hospital visits whenever possible.
As patients age, health care needs often become more complex. Boothbay Region Health Center provides geriatric care for older adults, including support for aging in place, healthy lifestyle management, chronic care management, medication review, fall risk awareness, and prevention or treatment of cognitive decline.
Our goal is to help older adults remain as healthy, independent, and comfortable as possible. We work with patients, families, caregivers, and other health care providers to support safe, coordinated care that respects each patient’s needs and goals.
Boothbay Region Health Center provides women’s health services for girls, teens, and women at different stages of life. Our care includes gynecological exams, breast exams, Pap smears, family planning support, reproductive health counseling, and testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, including herpes and other common concerns.
We provide care in a respectful, confidential, and supportive setting. Whether you need a routine screening, have a specific concern, or want to talk through changes in your health, our team is here to help.
